Pokemon Smash + Japan News

20130209-105612.jpg Update 1:00 PM: It looks like Pokemon Smash will feature something on X and Y today, according to the TV Tokyo website which mentions the games in the blurb for this weeks Smash episode. At this point, we have no clue what that news will be (hopefully it won’t be an announcement of a future announcement), but we will be posting a link to the stream and keeping you updated if we learn anything new. Thanks to @Banamyy on Twitter for the info.

Good afternoon Pokemon Dungeon, just a quick heads up that Pokemon Smash will be airing later today. It has been over a month now since the announcement of Pokemon X and Y, so there is a good possibility that we may get some kind of information from the show this week. It is also nearing the time when CoroCoro scans begin to leak, but a friendly reminder than there are a lot of fake scans floating around with only more attempts at tricking people to come I’m sure. So please do be wary of images you find around the web the next few days. Keep an eye out on Pokemon Dungeon throughout the weekend as we will be bringing you the latest information as it comes in. You can also keep an eye out for news updates on our Facebook and Twitter.

Alright now onto some news from Japan, which includes a new Pokedex skin and the chance to obtain a level 99 shiny Magikarp.

The Pokemon Center in Nagoya is relocating to a new building soon and to celebrate they are giving out level 99 Shiny Magikarp. The move set is very unique giving the Pokemon Flail, Bounce, Splash and Hydro Pump, making this the coolest event Pokemon to ever be given out in my book. The Magikarp is holding a Rare Candy which can allow you to evolve it as soon as you get it, but if it were me I think I would keep it a Magikarp just for the fun of it. Besides, there are plenty of shiny Gyarados thanks to HeartGold and SoulSilver.

The promotion runs from March 20th all the way to May 6th, so there is plenty of time to obtain one for those living nearby or anyone who is planning on visiting the area.

20130209-105621.jpgFor Japanese Black 2 and White 2 game carts there is a new Pokedex skin available for download on Global Link featuring the Unova Gym logo and colors inspired by the Aspertia city gym leader Cheren’s trademark colors of blue, white, and red. All you need to do to redeem it is to log into your Global Link account and on the promotions page and put ゆめ into the password box. It’s actually a very sleek looking skin and is available until 26th of March, so don’t miss out.
